Guitar Center asked us to create a wish list that stood out. It needed to mirror the passion that musicians felt and be intuitive enough that friends and family would enjoy using it as well. We talked to anybody and everybody who knew music. We went to the local Guitar Center, met with the employees, and strummed, picked, beat, and played every instrument in sight. And after working in unison with the client and fully immersing ourselves in the musicians’ world, we came up with an idea for an interactive wish list that everyone would tune into.
We created a user friendly experience on Guitar Center’s website where people could shop for products they want, place them on a
personalized iconic music poster of their choosing, email it to friends and family, and post it to social networking sites. To make the experience truly memorable, we also had the concert poster artists’ who worked with bands like Pearl Jam, Modest Mouse and Ted Leo bring the iconic posters to life. And from metal to rockabilly, they helped us create shareable wish lists that everyone could relate to.
When we looked at the finished product, we knew we had a hit on our hands. And with over 1,000 posters created in the first week alone, we were proven right. We had successfully created something that expressed people’s love for music almost as well as their love for the music equipment they hoped to receive.
